Food trippin’ at Global Village

Global Village is a multicultural festival park. It is also famous for its several pavilions, group of international cuisines, market stalls, fun rides, and shows.

Currently, Global Village is on its 27th season. There is no specific opening and closing date each year, but it usually runs from October until April.

FOOD – this is the number one reason why my BFF and I visit the said park. Here are some photos of the food we ate when we went there.

LUQAIMAT – famous Middle Eastern sweet dumplings (similar to donuts) which are deep fried, drizzled with date syrup and sesame seeds. They’re so crunchy on the outside and soft and airy on the inside.

***

PANCIT HABHAB and CHICKEN BBQ with RICE – both are Filipino food.

***

BAMBALONI – Tunisian donut. So crispy and airy. Perfect!

CORN DOG – this tastes great, too, but I think it’s pricey.😅

***

WARAK ENAB – in Arabic, it translates literally to grape leaves. These are stuffed grape vines leaves. I didn’t even bother to ask what’s inside BECAUSE IT WAS SO GOOD I completely forgot to “interview” the saleslady😅, but usually you can find beef, rice and spices.

CHURROS – you already know that Churros is divine!

***

THE FLOATING MARKET – you can find mainly Thai foods & drinks here. There are also Filipino and Korean foods. Before, the location was far from the main entrance, but now we were thrilled to find it close to the entrance area because this is where we can find our favorite eats like PAD THAI.

PAD THAI – if you haven’t had Pad Thai, you should try it. It is a stir-fry noodles with a sweet-savory-sour sauce. This is one of the dishes we always eat.

***

COCONUT ICE CREAM and COCONUT MILKSHAKE – these two are absolute favorites! We always come back for these.

COCONUT JUICE – not too sweet for me, but maybe it will be better the next time I try.

***

MANGO STICKY RICE WITH ICE CREAM – the classic mango sticky rice with coconut cream is divine. This one with ice cream is also perfect. I would definitely come back for this!

THAI MANGO – the mango was sweet and I love it!

MANGO SMOOTHIE WITH MANGO STICKY RICE – the mango smoothie part was a little sour, but the mango sticky rice was perfect. It would have been great they would add more serving of the mango sticky rice and make the smoothie lesser. Or maybe that’s the idea – mango smoothie WITH mango sticky rice, right?🥴

PAVILLIONS I LOVE TO VISIT:

TURKEY PAVILLION – they have different kinds of coasters, plates, bowls that have lovely designs.

THAILAND PAVILLION – I don’t know, but I’m kinda obsessed with their massage oils and the like. For me, they have a relaxing effect. Last year, I got Poy Sian Mark-II inhalers, and I also got them this year, and, yes, I got six inhalers and the other ones in the third photo. The saleslady even told me, “Go to Thailand.”. She remembered that I went there twice.😂

And every 9pm, it’s time for fireworks display! THAT IS DAILY!

That’s the end of our trip to Global Village. You can find out more about Global Village here.

I am sharing this experience with my friends at Fiesta Friday #482.
