Red Iced Tea with Homemade Strawberry Syrup

I’ve been a fan of iced tea since the time I knew what iced tea was. I could finish a liter of iced tea in seconds and I am not even kidding! When dining out, I can’t be seduced by those fancy-looking drinks with pretty colors and cute little umbrella. I do check the menu, but it’s the iced tea I’ll choose over and over again. And if they offer bottomless iced tea, then I’ll remember that place forever! I’m always like ‘Is the iced tea bottomless?

Though I’ve been crazy over iced tea, I rarely made my own or try different flavors. I think it is because it’s always the same thing (lemon iced tea) they serve in the restaurants I go to or I am getting the same packet of iced tea mix powder every single time.

Then things have slightly changed when I first tasted the red iced tea. It was not long ago. I love it, but it is not always within my reach. We met, and then said our “hellos” and “goodbyes”. I’ve forgotten about it. Do you believe that love is sweeter the second time around, or maybe the third time? So we met again about two months ago and that’s the time I got drunk on red iced tea. It’s like everywhere I go to eat, I go there for red iced tea. Then it’s time to say goodbye again. That’s when I realized how much I loved it I had to find a way how to make it and get drunk again.

I’ve consulted my friend Google and found so many recipes. It’s so overwhelming I left Google and decided to experiment.

After a few ideas, I ended up using strawberry and raspberry infused tea (as suggested by my BFF) that I got from Marks and Spencer. I steep the tea bags in hot water and let it cooled down and mixed it with cold water. I added homemade strawberry syrup to sweeten it.

OMG!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST RED ICED TEA I have ever tasted. If I am crazy over iced tea before, I am so much crazier now!! In every sip, you’ll get that real strawberry taste. Ahhh! You have to make it for you to get drunk, er, understand me. You will love it – I promise!!

While you are thinking when to make this delicious iced tea, grab your share and head over to Fiesta Friday #250 table for this week’s exciting party. Exciting because… aside from I am co-hosting today, I am co-hosting with not one, but three talented ladies – Jenny @ Apple to Face Blog, Aunt Juju @ Cooking with Aunt Juju and Jess @ Cooking is my Sport. Wohooo! And did you notice that our names are starting with the letter “J”?? So, our host, Jangie (well, she agreed with the name so we can all be “J” this week), named us “J Crew”. Isn’t that fun and exciting??

So c’mon and join the fun and exciting Fiesta Friday party.
