Ingredients
For the sauce:
¼cup(60 ml) soy sauce
3tbsp(45 ml) rice vinegar
6-8tbspgochujanglesser if you want less spicy
6tbspbrown sugar
8clovesgarliccrushed
1tbspgingergrated
Others:
500gfrozen chicken popcorn
Cooking oil
Toasted sesame seedsto garnish
Spring onionsfor garnish
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients for the sauce. Simmer over low-medium heat until it reaches saucy consistency. Set aside until ready to use.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
Add enough cooking oil to accommodate the chicken popcorn.
When the oil is hot enough, add the chicken popcorn and cook until golden brown. Remove from the pan and drain excess oil by using a strainer or by using a stack of paper towels.
In a bowl, add the cooked chicken popcorn and the sauce. Mix everything together.
Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and spring onions.
Serve with rice or as an appetizer.
Recipe Notes
The sauce can be made ahead – keep it in the fridge and heat the sauce before using.
