Quarantine Days and Beyond
In continuation of my previous post, “Guidelines for OFWs Travelling Back Home”, I will share with you in this post my experiences during the “quarantine days” and beyond.
THE HOTEL: Our designated hotel was B Hotel in Quezon City. The hotel was clean and the staffs were accommodating, friendly and approachable. The place was clean, too.
As to the number of person per room, it was required that only one person stayed in one room. The room was clean and beautiful.
THE QUARANTINE DAYS: We arrived at the hotel on October 24 and did our RT-PCR test on October 28 (5th day). The result was released on October 30 early in the morning. We were asked to send the One Health Pass BOQ Discharge Certificate (for negative test results).
CHECKOUT FROM THE HOTEL: After releasing the result of our swab test, we checked out from the hotel around noon time and made our way to the airport. We were divided by our destination. As for me, I choose General Santos City as my destination port as it is one closer to my hometown. Right there, after submitting/showing the required documents, they issued our air tickets and immediately boarded the aircraft.
Upon arrival at the General Santos City airport, there were OWWA officers that will bring you to your designated line/queue. In this “area”, assigned officers from my hometown listed down my name and my home address. When the attendance was complete, we made our way to our transportation to finally travel back to our hometown. We arrived at the City Hall (this was the protocol of our city – to bring us to the city hall and our families can collect us/meet us there) around 11:15 pm.
Due to some unexpected events, some of the luggage was left behind at CAAP. The same team collected the luggage and brought them to our City Disaster Office for our collection. Thank goodness, the items were safe.
THE HOTEL FOOD: I must say that the foods provided to us during our stay at B Hotel were great. The packaging was good. They served us main meals 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
In The B Hotel, during the quarantine days, food (or any items) delivery is strictly prohibited. If you are like me who loves snacks in between meals, it is best to bring some with you.
WHAT TO BRING?
- SNACKS. You can also bring cup noodles just in case you need more than just snacks. Also, you can bring your own coffee and tea bags.
- ADAPTER: It is better to bring a universal socket adapter like this.
- BEDSHEET AND PILLOW CASES: Well, just in case you’d like to use your own.
- AIR SANITIZER/ROOM SANITIZER
- In case you want to wash mugs and other kitchen stuff, bring your own dishwashing liquid and sponge.
COUNTRIES THAT BELONG TO THE “GREEN LIST” COUNTRIES MAY NEED TO BE QUARANTINED.
Thanks a bunch for spending your precious time with me!
