Sweet Style Stir Fry Noodles is one of the easiest noodle recipes you could make.
I received gifts from ID Fresh Food and that includes their newly launched product – fresh noodles. The fresh noodles come in classic and whole wheat.
If you have been following me since I started blogging back in 2013, maybe you’d remember my noodle experiments which took me six attempts until I get to this recipe. Well, maybe you’d not remember it since it was a long time ago.
Anyway, let me just tell you about it.
I love stir fry noodles and I tried different mixtures of ingredients. All were good, but there was something I was looking for but couldn’t really tell what was it. Finally, after the sixth attempt, I was happy with what I did.
WHY I LOVE THIS SWEET STYLE STIR FRY NOODLES?
This sweet style stir fry noodles is so quick and very easy to make. This has two sauces which are oyster sauce and sweet soy sauce. ID Fresh Food’s noodles came out soft, but not soggy which is an important factor in stir fry noodles. I added ground black pepper until it got a peppery taste. You can say this is a “sweet and peppery stir fry noodles”. I love sweet and savory dishes so this is an awesome dish for me.
NOTES:
- If ID Fresh Food noodles is not available in your area and using a different brand of noodles, I suggest you get fresh noodles, too. Whatever brand of noodles you use, make sure not to overcook it. Otherwise, it will become soggy.
- Do a taste test before adding the noodles to the cooked veggies and sauce. This way, you will not adjust the seasoning while the cooked noodles is in the pan which may cause soggy noodles.
- You can add your choice of meat/protein as well as the veggies.
- This dish is best enjoyed on the same day until the next day. For leftover, it can be reheated in a microwave oven.

Sweet Style Stir Fry Noodles
Ingredients
- 200-300 g fresh noodles I used ID Fresh Food’s classic fresh noodles
- Water (for boiling the noodles)
- Cooking oil
- 20 medium shrimps shelled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 red bell pepper sliced
- ½ cup julienned carrots
- ½ cup sliced green beans
- 1 cup shredded cabbage loosed packed
- ½ cup mung bean sprouts
- ½ cup (125 ml) oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- Ground black pepper
- Sesame oil for drizzling
Instructions

Put water in a pan and bring to a boil. Add fresh noodles and cook for 2 minutes (or depending on the package instructions). When time is up, drain the noodles and place in a bowl with very cold water. Let it stay there for 30 second and drain again. Set aside until ready to use.

In a pan over medium-high heat, add cooking oil.

When the oil is hot enough, add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add onion and bell pepper slices, cook until soft. Add shrimps and cook for another 1 minute. Add carrots and sliced green beans and cook for 2 minutes. Add oyster sauce and sweet soy sauce. I also added water, about 2 tbsp. Simmer over low heat for 2 minutes. Add cabbage and cook for another minute. Add mung bean sprouts, cook for 30 seconds.

Do a taste test before adding the cooked noodles. Adjust your seasoning if needed.

Add the cooked noodles and mix until noodles are coated with the sauce.

Add sesame oil (if you want) and ground black pepper. As to the ground black pepper, I really didn’t measure; I added until I was happy with the taste.

Best if served during the same day. I also love it with fresh mung bean sprouts.
