Maple Oatmeal Muffins + Recipe Video
I hope the video of these Maple Oatmeal Muffins is not the last recipe video I will share.
It has been very difficult to shoot a recipe video since the day I was given additional working hours. Although I can make it after work, the natural light will not be available. I am torn between continuing and saying goodbye to making recipe videos. Let’s see what will happen…
In the meantime, let me share these Maple Oatmeal Muffins.
These muffins are mainly made with oatmeal and maple syrup. (We know, Jhuls. The title, duh!!)
I used pure maple syrup. You will taste that maple syrup, but I love that the muffins didn’t turn out very sweet. They came out moist and soft. I was just testing the recipe I found from Bunny’s Warm Oven and took a video for fun, but I am so pleased I had to share it.
I made a small batch only because I didn’t want to finish all the maple syrup I have. Pure maple syrup is quite expensive so I want to use it in more recipes. If not, I’ll only use it with pancakes and I don’t think my jeans would be happy about. Pancakes everyday? Not a good idea!
Back to the muffins… I spread the muffins with maple butter and they were fantastic! You can use regular. If you want to try making maple butter, there are recipes available. Ask Google. I served them with maple green tea. All maple, huh?
I hope you can try this recipe and let me know what you think. Also, I hope you can show me some love by visiting my YouTube channel and watch the video. I would also appreciate if you can leave comments, like and/or subscribe. 😉 Thank you in advance.

I am taking these muffins with me at Angie’s Fiesta Friday #240. Thank you to our co-hosts this week – Laurena and Deb.
Maple Oatmeal Muffins
These Maple Oatmeal Muffins are made with pure maple syrup and they are not overly sweet. They are perfect when spread with maple butter.
Ingredients
- 40 g quick-cooking oats
- 60 ml whole milk warm
- 65 g all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 90 ml pure maple syrup
- 1 small egg
- 30 ml melted butter cooled
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Prepare muffin pan lined with paper liners.
-
In a small bowl, add oats and whole milk. Mix and set aside to cool down.
-
In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
-
To the oat mixture, add pure maple syrup, egg and melted butter.
-
Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
-
Divide the batter into the paper liners. (I used only 5 paper liners.)
-
Bake at preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let the muffins stay in the pan for few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to cool further.
-
Serve with maple butter or regular butter.
Before you go…
Did you see the biscotti I made with maple syrup? Ahhh! They were so good. It was my first time to make them and I was very pleased! Why don’t you check out the recipe if you haven’t seen it yet? 😉

These sound really great Jhuls, and having watched the video super easy to make too 😀 I know just what you mean about struggling with natural light for photography not to mention videos when the days start drawing in Jhuls, I hope you manage to work out a new routine for the darker days because that video was great – love the music to it too – very funky. Thankyou for sharing with #BakingCrumbs,
Angela x

When I get a vacant space in my mind, I will figure out how to make new recipe videos and what to make next. There are so many recipes that I need to try. 😀 Thanks, Angela. x

I can’t even think about starting a recipe video. The space, the lighting, the camera, the time, the editing, how?? So consider yourself ahead of the game, Jhuls. Maybe once I retire I can do that, but then I’ll probably stop blogging by then, too 😀 The muffins sound great, Jhuls. Love maple syrup!

My friends told me ‘add more recipe videos to your YouTube channel’. I told them it is not easy, so that is something I can be proud of. 😀 Thanks, Angie. x

Love oats in baking, but not sure I’ve ever tried them in a muffin. As for the maple butter – oh my! #CookBlogShare & #CookOnceEatTwice.

These are so perfect! Maple syrup is such a lovely sweetener. Thanks for sharing at FiestaFriday! I know what you mean by the natural light but you should 100% keep your videos coming.
Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook
Thank you for encouraging me. I will make more recipe videos – on how and when, that’s something I have to find out. 😀

Yum! I am currently obsessed with muffins. I think I could easily make these gluten free! Can’t wait to try them!

These look so good and so so tempting! I know if I’d made them I’d want to eat them all to myself so thank you so much for sharing with #CookOnceEatTwice!
Jhuls @ The Not So Creative Cook
Haha! I understand, Corina. When I make small batch muffins, I think that would also translate to ‘good for one person’. 😀
Helen at the Lazy Gastrome
