My sister has been raving about Beef Chao Fan, saying it’s one of her favorite dishes to make (and of course, to devour!😋). She was pretty surprised when I told her I hadn’t tried making it myself, especially since she knows how much I love fried rice. And honestly, I’ve been asking myself, “Why haven’t I made this yet?”
Now, before anyone jumps in to tell me this might not be the most authentic Beef Chao Fan recipe out there—yes, I know!😅 But hey, this is my take on Beef Chao Fan. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!🤗

NOTES ON BEEF CHAO FAN:
- You can add more oyster sauce or soy sauce, if needed.

Beef Chao Fan
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 250 g ground beef
- 4 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 small carrot chopped
- ½ cup chopped cabbage
- ½ cup chopped greens I used pechay
- 3 cups cooked rice
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Sliced spring onions
Instructions

Add oil to a pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the eggs and scramble until cooked. Remove the cooked eggs from the pan and transfer them to a plate.

In the same pan, add a bit more oil. Add garlic and onion, and cook for about five minutes until they are softened.

Add the ground beef and break down into pieces until cooked.

Stir in oyster sauce and soy sauce, and cook until the sauce is reduced.

Add the vegetables—carrots, cabbage, and pechay—and cook for two minutes.

Add the rice, mixing until it is well-coated and warmed through.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Add the cooked eggs and sprinkle with spring onions.
