Acai Smoothie Bowl

Have you tried Acai Smoothie Bowl? I did and I loved it.

I am aware about some of the health benefits of acai berries like they contain fiber and antioxidants. In fact, I wanted to buy acai powder before, but the thought was put aside. One day, the BFF and I were watching videos on YouTube. Suddenly, a recipe video of Acai Smoothie Bowl appeared. The next thing we know, we’re watching recipe video after another. And that’s when I finally decided to try it as well.

Acai Smoothie Bowl (or just Acai Bowl) is usually thick smoothie bowls made with frozen acai puree along with other preferred fruits and milk, then topped with more fruits and other toppings of choice like granola (I used homemade granola), seeds and nuts.

HOW DO I MAKE A THICK ACAI SMOOTHIE BOWL?

Based on my experience, you will need to have your fruits frozen and do not add a lot of milk at first. After adding all the ingredients in the blender, pulse for few seconds, then add milk of choice little by little to avoid it from being too runny.

Ingredients

  • 200 g of frozen acai puree
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • 160-180 ml milk (I used oat milk)
  • Fresh fruits for topping (see notes)
  • Granola for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add frozen acai puree, banana, blueberries and milk in a blender. Pulse until smooth. You may need to add milk if the smoothie is too thick.
  2. Transfer to a bowl. Add your favorite toppings on top.
  3. Enjoy immediately.

Recipe Notes

  • Do not add the milk at once. I suggest adding half at first and blend to see if it’s too thick. If yes, add more milk little by little to ensure that your smoothie is thick.
  • Add toppings of choice.
