Cheesesteak Tortilla Sandwich is my newest favorite.
I’ve been obsessed with cheesesteak sandwich lately. It started when we went to Global Village and tried a delicious cheesesteak sandwich.
I tried recreating the cheesesteak sandwich on the first day & second day of this year, but I was not 100% satisfied with the results. Yes, both attempts were delicious, but I think there was something missing. And the rest is a story for another day.
Moving on to this Cheesesteak Tortilla Sandwich…
A tortilla hack is trending these days on TikTok. Some people say it isn’t a hack at all – it’s just a burrito wrapped differently. For me, it is a hack. I always struggle wrapping my tortilla sandwich unless it’s a quesadilla. This tortilla hack is amazingly perfect for me.
THE TORTILLA-FOLDING HACK*
First: Get your tortilla. Cut a slit to the middle of tortilla.
Second: Fill or top each quarter section of the tortilla with your preferred fillings/toppings.
Third: Fold each quarter triangles onto themselves, then you will get like a layered wrap.
Fourth: Heat the sandwich using a panini press or heat on a pan.
*I may need to update this post with step-by-step photos. What do you think??
When I saw this tortilla-folding hack, I was thrilled to try it. I had frozen steak so I thought why not tortilla sandwich with cheesesteak??
And my friends, I hit two birds in one stone – an amazing tortilla sandwich and a life changing tortilla folding hack.
The cheesesteak is perfect with the soft tortilla. The beef is so tender, the slightly caramelized onion and green bell pepper is just amazing! It is cheesy, too. I did not use provolone cheese because I can’t find it here. I used sliced mozzarella and cheddar cheese, but I was beyond satisfied with this.
The tortilla-folding hack – for sure, I would use it whenever I’ll have tortilla sandwich for my meal. Ahhh! So genius!!
NOTES:
- I used a ribeye steak.
- Don’t overcook the beef. For me, it took me two minutes to cook the beef.
- Slightly caramelize the onion and bell pepper – so good!
- Provolone cheese was not available, so I used cheddar and mozzarella.

- Salt & pepper to taste (a pinch or two)
- 2 tortilla wraps I used the large size

Assemble the tortilla sandwich:
-
Cut a slit to the middle of tortilla.

Fill or top each quarter section of the tortilla with mayonnaise, cheesesteak, and cheese.
-
Fold upwards and then keep making folds moving in the same direction until you get a layered wrap. (see the video for visuals)
